Kansai-san who has also been honored by Gucci, Givenchy, Kenzo, Jean Paul Gautier and Marc Jacobs who calls Kansai-san his mentor. Kansai-san was also the image architect behind iconic looks of David Bowie & Elton John and was even praised by Michael Jackson. Similarly Christian Dior drew directly from Hokusai woodblock prints to structure delicate silk embroidery for mid-century runway presentations. Even England's greatest designer Anthony McQueen was inspired by Samurai armour and art.
Karl Lagerfeld maintained a lifetime dialogue with Japanese textile masters, incorporating raw indigo weaves and architectural pleating into Chanel silhouettes, proving that Eastern structural severity remains the silent spine of modern Western luxury. SØHØ's feature film debut "Destiny: A Star is Reborn" pays homage to the best European luxury houses and the influence and impact Japan had had on their incredible work. Fashion can thus transcend borders and boundaries while still preserving cultural uniqueness.

K- Pop Iconography
