Issey Miyake Masterworks
From Steve Jobs and Kim Kardashian to Lisa and Jungkook, Issey Miyake is arguably the most celebrated Japanese designer of all time and we maintain an extensive archive of his genius, from early conceptual pieces to the iconic Pleats Please and A-POC lines. A testament to innovation and form. SØHØ often wears the architectural, sculptural and textile innovator Issey Miyake along with his extended lineage from Zucca & Chisato to Mercibeaucoup and Me to Hai, HAAT & Plantation, Similarly, SØHØ is very heavily influenced by the anti-fashion embodiment of cool Yohji Yamamoto (preferred by the likes of BTS leader RM, Drake, Billy Eilish and Zendaya) and the rebellious yet spectacular Rei Kawakuba (the only living designer honored with her own exhibit at the MET to match Yves Saint Laurent and revered by Pharrell, Rihanna, Gaga, Mick Jagger and G-Dragon). In fact, SØHØ always wears the arresting designs of a major Japanese fashion legend at major events to pay homage to the uniqueness of Japanese couture that is revered worldwide. And to this Trinity, SØHØ also represents the Basara maximalist style of Kansai Yamamoto — David Bowie's image architect, honored by Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Kenzo, Givenchy & Marc Jacobs.
Chisato, Zucca, Mercibeaucoup
We also carry an extensive archive of both outfits and accessories by Miyake's proteges: Chisato Tsumori, Zucca, and Mercibeaucoup. Each carrying forward the spirit of playful deconstruction.
Plantation, HAAT, Hai, Me
Our Archive also encompasses the later evolution of the Miyake universe, including Plantation, HAAT, Hai, and Me. Showcasing diverse approaches to textile and silhouette. The HAAT collection —inspired by Japan's Buddhist lineage and the Sanskrit word HAAT which means "by hand" and also "village mart" is particularly significant and symbolic.

The Anti-Fashion Legend
Yohji Yamamoto in his own league
SØHØ Couture archives a rare collection of Yohji Yamamoto, -- Japan's iconic designer worn by BTS leader RM, Billy Eilish, Drake and Zendaya among others —from his radical deconstruction of Western silhouettes to his enduring influence on modern menswear. From his jewelry, to his bags, to his gender-less skirts and his oversize suits, Yohji-sensei has been an incredible influence on SØHØ Couture. SØHØ regularly and proudly wears Yohji-sensei's clothes, bags and accessores for important meetings. Yohji-sensei has also said that Buddhism plays an increasing role in his fashion and life and as an expert in Japanese Buddhism and Bushido, SØHØ also honors Buddhist concepts from Ma to Wabi-sabi popularized by Yohji.
Rei Kawakubo & the definition of cool...
Along with Yves Saint Laurent, Rei Kawakubo is the only living designer to be given her own Exhibit at the MET Museum and is a favorite of Pharrell, Rihanna, ASAP, Ye & G-Dragon among others. We applaud and proudly feature masterpieces from Comme des Garçons' groundbreaking designs that redefined beauty and proportion in fashion. We salute Rei Kawakubo for her relentless conviction and creativity in going against the grain with applomb. We also honor her lineage from Junya Watanabe to Tao of Tricot who expanded her philosophy of challenging conventions.

Honoring the Proteges
Comme des Garçons Archives: Junya
We also honor the CDG lineage from Junya Watanabe to Tao of Tricot who expanded her philosophy of challenging conventions. In addition we carry masterpieces from proteges of the great masters be it Sacai, or A/T, or the rubber wraps of Maki Hiroshige to celebrate all those who continue the vision for future generations...
Godfather & top collaborator of Louis Vuitton
Kansai Yamamoto
SØHØ couture also honors the first Japanese designer to make his mark overseas - the maximalist Kansai Yamamoto who was uniquely honored by Louis Vuitton and has been praised by Gucci, Givenchy, Kenzo and Marc Jacobs who called him a mentor. Kansai famously designed the jaw dropping outfits for David Bowie and has also designed for the King of Pop Michael Jackson himself. SØHØ Couture has an extensive archive of Kansai which will be displayed in the next feature film Bodhidharma - a modern day retelling of the story of Asia's greatest warrior monk.
We do not store history; we wear its cut edge. Everyday. Always.
